Mika Koizumi began her career at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), where she was engaged in digital government and work style reform initiatives. During her tenure, she was seconded to the Cabinet Secretariat and the OECD. Ms. Koizumi joined freee K.K. in 2019, where she led business negotiations for API connections with financial institutions across the country to implement open APIs in response to the amendment of the Banking Act. She subsequently launched “freee Financing,” a financial product comparison service for small and medium-sized enterprises and sole proprietors, utilizing bank transaction data. Since 2021, she has served as Product Manager, overseeing freee’s account aggregation infrastructure, including bank, e-money, and e-commerce integrations. She concurrently oversees governmental external financial affairs, including advocacy for tax reform proposals. She has served as Director, Japan Financial Services Intermediary Business Association since 2021, and Director, Japan Association for Financial APIs since 2023.
