• 2006 – Joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)
At METI, Mr. Kunimine was primarily responsible for energy policy and derivative regulations, including legislation for electricity derivatives, etc. During secondment to the Cabinet Office, he was engaged in economic trend analysis and the drafting of the Annual Report on the Japanese Economy and Public Finance.

• 2014 Resigned from METI
• 2015 Registered as an attorney after completing legal training
• 2016 Joined Morrison & Foerster LLP/Ito & Mitomi, where he was engaged in general corporate practice, M&A, real estate transactions, data privacy compliance, litigation, etc.
• 2017 Founded Kunimine Law Office (Member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association)
