Chika Minami graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University in 2012, and from the Graduate School of Law, Kyoto University in 2014. She passed the National Bar Examination in the same year and joined Nishimura & Asahi in 2016, and ZeLo in 2018.
Ms. Minami received her Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (Wharton Business and Law Certificate). From November 2022 to December 2024, she served at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where she led startup policy initiatives as General Policy Planning and Coordination Officer in the Office for Startup Promotion (Startup Promotion Office, Minister’s Secretariat /Startup Promotion Office, Innovation and Startup Promotion Division, Innovation and Environment Policy Bureau, METI).
Ms. Minami returned to ZeLo in January 2025. Her primary areas of practice include: startup support, rulemaking and public affairs, fintech, M&A, general corporate matters, and crisis management and compliance.
She is the Representative Director of Japan Association of Public Meets Innovation. In 2021, she was named Innovator of the Year at the ALB Women in Law Awards.
